In her work, Asma is fundamentally interested in landscape as an aesthetic notion, where experimentation is placed at the service of her art. Her work explores themes of habitat, transmission, architecture, interior and exterior spaces, social transformations and local heritage, echoing the relationship between environmental construction and personal experience

Taking inspiration from the iconic ballad by Umm Kulthum, Ben Aissa’s textile-based work weaves together memory, song, and the transmission of heritage. Through embroidery and thread, she gives material form to oral histories, intergenerational knowledge, and collective affect. Her exhibition explores the intimacy of gesture and the deep emotional resonance embedded in craft.
